Western Challenge Cup Schedule Posted For July 12-15th!
Congratulations to all  the Ridge Meadow teams that participated in the Western Cup Challenge. The U-10 division won GOLD! Well done to coach Marcus Witt. In the U-12 division the boys came 4th , they lost a tight game 2-1 against. The U-14 boys lost in overtime 4-3. U-17 lost 3-2 which gave them the silver.

Thank you to all of the volunteers that help with 50/50 sales, raffle table sales, and also the concession.

RMMBHA teams off to Provincials July 2-6th!
Come out and support our local teams competing in the Minor Ball Hockey Provincials
(Schedule for the tournament is posted on the 2008 Provincial Page, all games are local)

Thank you to all the volunteers that helped out with the provincial games. 

Congratulations to the following teams that won their Regional Finals to go on to the Provincials:
Peanut Division: The Panthers- Congratulations to the Panthers for the Gold medal at the provincials.
Pup Division: The Rangers lost in their semi final in OT
PeeWee Division: The Dragonators- Congratulations to the Dragonators for their 2nd place finish at the provincials.
Minor Division: Rampage lost both games but played well.
Major Division: The Sky lost in the semi finals.
Junior Division: The Cheefs lost in the semi finals.

And congrats to the Squirtle Squad in the Junior Division that won the Wild Card game to advance to the Provincials as well.

RMMBHA Player 2009 Registration
RMMBHA players came out in force to Player Re-Registration - to date 440 have re-registered for 2009! All families who have registered for the 2008-09 season, your cheque will not be cashed until August 1st, 2008.
Next registration will be held October 18th, 10 am- 2 pm at the Hammond Community Center located 20601 Westfield avenue. Turn off of 207th onto Westfield avenue. 

All new and returning player's registering for 2009 must submit a photo copy of their birth certificate and have your Care Card number to fill out on the registration form. Registration cheques can be post dated for November 1st, 2008. Please remember to bring a second cheque for Volunteer Form post dated for July 1st, 2009 and made out for $25. Volunteer cheques are submitted one per family. Register in October there might not be a January!

The birth year and October registration fees will be:

TYKES (born 2004/2003) $85.00
PEANUT (born 2002/2001) $135.00
PUP (born 2000/1999) $140.00
PEEWEE (born 1998/1997) $145.00
MINOR (born 1996/1995) $150.00
MAJOR (born 1994/1993) $155.00
JUNIOR (born 1992/1991/1990) $160.00

Mini-tykes program is being reassessed and if continued will be offered in our October Early Registration.

Congratulations to Evan Seminerio and Gary Slavin
Team Canada wins gold in both U16 & U18 World Ball Hockey Championships
It was a long 32 hours of travel back home from Zvolen, Slovakia but it was worth it as Evan Seminerio and Gary Slavin came home to Maple Ridge wearing gold medals around their necks. Evan Seminerio was part of the U16 Team Canada that defeated the Czech Republic in the World Finals 8-1. Evan scored the eighth goal of the game and helped his team bring home the gold. In U18 Division, Team Canada Assistant Coach Gary Slavin worked the Defense and Goaltending of the U18 squad that held the Slovakia team to 2 goals in the U18 World Finals as Team Canada went on to win 5-2. It was a first for both U16 & U18 Divisions in World Championships, and Canada now has braging rights at winning the innaugural tournament. The next World Championships for these divisions will be in 2010 taking place in Austria.

Call for Special Events Director
RMMBHA has an opening for the 2008 season. If you enjoy planning events and having a great time hosting events, this position is for you. We are looking for a Special Events Director to oversee the Openining Night Ceremony and the RMMBHA Pub Night Fundraiser. If you enjoy puttting a party together and would like to be a part of the RMMBHA Board of Directors, please forward your interest to us. You will work closely with our Volunteer Director who will supply help and information.
