Why do I have to register so far in advance?

Early registration ensures you that your child will be playing!  Waiting for final registration often leads to disappointment, expecially if your child remains on the waitlist.  As well, the league needs to know how many players to expect, so that we can select coaching staff and request floor time from Parks and Leisure Services.

When does the season start?

For the directors, the season doesn't really ever end!  However, generally, this is our timeframe:
January/February:  NEW PLAYER evaluations (mandatory)
Mid-March:  Drafting of Teams
Mid-late March:  Coach contacts team
Late March:  first initial "practice"
April:  Season officially begins
Mid-June:  Season ends

What is the ball hockey schedule?

The schedule is only created once we have completed all registration and the league has received confirmation of the available floortime.  You can expect your child to play on average, 2 games per week and generally on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (combination of days).
In the beginning of the season, teams will have some practice time alloted; practices are reduced as the season progresses.

I can't make it to registration.  How can I still get my child registered?

If you are unable to attend in person, you can send an alternate adult.  You must send a signed letter from yourself, giving the alternate adult permission to register and sign on your behalf.  As well, the alternate adult must be able to provide all required documents/payments at the time of registration.

What is the Parent Participation Fee?

The league incorporated the Parent Participation Fee as an incentive for parents to help out with things such as scorekeeping, assistant-coach/manager position, jersey washing, assistance with Opening Night/Pub Night, etc.  Once you've fulfilled the volunteer position, your cheque is shredded.  Cheques are postdated so that it gives parents adequate opportunities to volunteer during the season.  This league is run entirely by volunteers, including the Board of Directors.

How much are my child's registration fees?
Please see the chart below.
