2005 saw the first 3on3 Challenge in Maple Ridge on the streets of 236A & Kanaka, in 2007 you saw RMMBHA bring the 3on3 Ball Hockey Challenge in doors to the Renegades Arena, for 2008 we are making the tournament bigger! In 2008 RMMBHA will be hosting the 3rd Annual 3on3 Ball Hockey Challenge at Renegades Arena, Maple Ridge in May. The date for this event will be the end of the Victoria Day long weekend - Monday, May 19th. (There will be no minor league games scheduled for this date)

ALL PROCEEDS GO TO RMMBHA PROGRAMS
We have 5 different divisions to offer youths and adults: 11 & under • 13 & under • 16 & under • 18 & under and Adult19 and over

Put together a team of 7 players (6 runners maximum and a goalie) and enter your team into this double knockout style tournament. All games are half floor up to the blueline. We put one foot boards along the blueline and set up nets at each side. The games are a 15 minute run time game, with referees (shoot outs if ties). All teams are guaranteed minimum two games. For all Divisions a lunch card is included - hotdog, chips and drink (seven cards per team). During the games there will be a raffle table and 50/50 draws.

ALL DIVISIONS ARE $200 per team to enter.

Adult division (includes 7 lunch cards & tourney entry)
For the U11, U13, U16 & U18 (includes 7 lunch cards, tourney entry & a 3on3 tshirt)
Top two teams in each division will receive 3on3 challenge medals and lots of prizes to the champions!
(gift certificates, equipment, merchandise and lots more!)
You must wear CSA helmet (with face cage if U18 and younger), hockey gloves, stick and soccer style shin guards if 18 and under.
You may carry seven (6) runners and one (1) goalie maximum per team registration.

To teams interested in registering, 

Thanks for your interest in the RMMBHA 3rd Annual 3on3 Ball Hockey Challenge Cup. At this time we would like to offer your team a spot in the upcoming RMMBHA fundraiser tournament on Victoria Day (May 19th, 2008) at Renegades Arena (Golden Ears Winter Club, next to Planet Ice/Maple Ridge). As divisions fill up, we will update this section.

For registration of your team, the association needs you to email the list of your 7 players (6 runners/1 goalie), Division you are entering and the name of your team to rmmbha@telus.net - subject: "3on3 team registration". If there is a conflict with team names, the team that registers first gets to use the name and the second team will be contacted to change.

Registration fees of $200 is due by Friday, May 9th 
If you do not have players registered in a CBHA sanctioned league (ie:RMMBHA or FVBHL'men's'), you must add $6 per player for insurance coverage for the tournament.
(Total fee would then be $235.00)

2008 RMMBHA 3on3 Ball Hockey Challenge Rules
THE GAME:
This is a fun event and it is the goal of organizers to provide an enjoyable and safe environment for players
Teams are guaranteed a minimum of two, fifteen-minute running time games. A faceoff at centre starts the game. There are no stoppages in play unless due to an injury. Teams will consist of a maximum of 7 registered players. Four players (including the goalie) are allowed on the playing surface during play. All player substitutions are made on the fly. Playing surface is to be 60’ by 85’, set up in the blue line area running sideways of the arena; nets are regulation size ice hockey nets. When a goal is scored, the goalie of the team scored upon drops the ball behind his net.the scoring team must clear the marked zone on the goal.
There are five divisions: 11 and under, 13 and under, 16 and under, 18 and under and 19 and over Adult (19+Adult). You can not be turning the age over the division on or before the May 19th date of the tournament. The tournament clock manages all games. There is no grace period for the start of games and if a team is late for the start, they forfeit the game. Games will not be rescheduled. You must start a game with minimum 4 players including the goalie, no substitutions from roster handed in at the start of the tournament. Each playing surface will have one Game Official who has full authority on governing the game and monitoring play and one Game Scorekeeper who will record the start and finish of each game and also be responsible for keeping track of the number of goals.
ALL CALLS MADE BY GAME OFFICIALS ARE FINAL AND ALL ISSUES AND DISPUTES WILL BE HANDLED BY THEM.
There will be no tie games. The team that scores the most will be declared the winner. Tied games will result in a sudden death shoot-out, whereby one shot is given to three players from each team in turn on each team until the tie is broken. If still tied after the 3 players then it goes to a sudden death one for one player shoot out. If the ball goes out of bounds, possession of the ball is given to the non-offending team at the point of exit; i.e., last touch loses possession. Assigned officials will have extra balls. Minor infractions/penalties include the following: shoving, pushing, tripping, slashing, elbowing, etc. Slap shots are permitted.
Major infractions/penalties will be called for: verbal abuse of officials, spectators or opponents; intentional slashing; fighting, intentional body checking.
Minor infractions/penalties during the game will result in a penalty shot at the time of the call.
Major infractions/penalties during the game will result in immediate ejection of the player, change in possession of the ball and awarding a goal to the non-offending team. Fights will not be tolerated and results in automatic ejection of the team and forfeiture of the game.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to add or delete rules; all teams will be informed of changes prior to the start of the tournament.
STANDINGS AND TOURNAMENT PLAY:
The tournament is a double knock out style tournament. If you lose a game at anytime in the winners bracket, you will drop to the losers bracket. Upon second loss of the tournament (first in the loser’s bracket, your team will be eliminated from the tournament.
THE PLAYERS:
Any player who behaves in a manner that does not exemplify sportsmanship and fair play will be prohibited from play at the discretion of the Organizing Committee or Game Official. Visible intoxication prohibits play in all cases.

RMMBHA League Pub Night
Saturday, June 21st • RENEGADES ARENA UPSTAIRS LOUNGE
This is our biggest fundraising event of the season, to keep league fees down, we want to make this event a success! We have limited tickets available, all team managers will received 2 tickets to sell (from Peanut to Junior Division), see your manager for tickets, Extra Tickets will be avaiable at the Renegades Arena Concession stand on the weekends. Get them early, there is only 80 tickets left for this fun event!...last year all 180 tickets sold out! Tickets include a Baron of Beef Buffet Dinner, Beverage and a ticket for a chance to win one of two major door prizes plus other smaller door prizes.
